Review Process
Publishing of articles in Shine: Guidance and Counseling Journal is subject to validity and coherence as assessed by our team of editors and reviewers. The intended assessment includes the feasibility and usefulness of writing in the scientific field of guidance and counseling. The review process in Shine: Guidance and Counseling Journal begins with checking the accuracy of writing articles according to the template and meeting the requirements of the Author Guidelines that have been set. The checking process is carried out by the Board of Editors or the Editorial Board whose task is to examine carefully and ensure that the article has met the evaluation criteria according to the template and Author Guidelines. The next stage, the editor is in charge of providing the results of the assessment by filling out the assessment result form, then the editor is also in charge of resubmitting the article according to the review results from the Board of Editors or the Editorial Board to the author if the article still does not meet the assessment criteria in this journal. The author is tasked with receiving the article again and revising it according to the results of the assessment given by the Board of Editors or the Editorial Board.
In the review process by the Editorial Team, a review was also carried out related to checking similarity using Turnitin. Articles that have met the requirements of the review process from the editor team are then followed up with the review process by the reviewer. The editor is in charge of sending articles electronically to reviewers, both internal and external reviewers. The reviewer is tasked with reviewing and assessing the substance of the article, which includes the relevance of the concept, theory and results of previous relevant studies, as well as the reading sources used by the author to review and analyze through comments and objective suggestions for improvement. The review process is carried out using a single blind review. Reviewers convey views and input that are supported by clear arguments and reviewers are not allowed to provide criticism of the author's personal because this is an unethical act taken during the review process. The entire review process is conducted electronically.
The next stage is carried out after the review process from reviewers is complete, the editor is tasked with deciding which articles are worthy of publication by considering the results of the preliminary review from the editor's team, the validity of the articles from the reviewer results, the usefulness and contribution of articles in the scientific development of guidance and counseling globally for both researchers, academics, practitioners, and others who read the article. The final stage of the review process is accepted and copyediting and publication.
