Publication Ethics

Estetika: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, is a peer-reviewed online journal. Codes of conduct are designed to provide a minimum set of standards with which all parties involved are expected to comply. This applies to those involved in the publication process, including authors, editor-in-chief, Editorial Board, reviewers and publishers. Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication

Publishing articles in Estetika: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia is a basic means of developing science and thought. Therefore, it is important to agree on standards of ethical behavior expected of all parties involved in publishing actions: authors, editors, reviewers, publishers and the public. As publisher, Estetika: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia is responsible for all stages of publishing and recognizes ethical and other responsibilities. Estetika: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia is also committed to ensuring that advertisements, reprints, or other commercial revenues do not impact or influence editorial decisions. 

Transparency and Confidentiality

The journal is clearly marked as a peer reviewed journal. Peer review is defined as obtaining advice on individual manuscripts from expert reviewers in the field who are not part of the journal's editorial staff. This process should be respected by any editorial staff by not disclosing any information about the submitted manuscript to anyone other than authors, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisors and appropriate publishers.

Copyright and Licensing Information

Authors may only submit manuscripts that are free from plagiarism and academic malpractice. However, editors and publishers are responsible for identifying and preventing indications related to suspected research violations, including plagiarism, citation manipulation, and data falsification / falsification, among others. Basically it is the author's job to only submit manuscripts that are free of academic plagiarism and malpractice.

Conflict of interest

Unpublished material related to the submitted article may not be used by the editor without the author's knowledge

Publication Decision

Every article that has been submitted to Estetika: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia will be noted by the editor and they decide which article should be published. The validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers should always drive such decisions. Editors may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and limited by the legal requirements that will apply regarding defamation, copyright infringement and plagiarism. Editors can confer with editors or other reviewers in making decisions.

Peer reviewers must

  1. Agree only to review manuscripts for which they have the subject expertise necessary to make an appropriate assessment and which they can judge at an appropriate time.
  2. Respect the confidentiality of peer reviews and do not disclose manuscript details or reviews thereof, during or after the peer review process, beyond those released by the journal.
  3. Do not use information obtained during the peer review process for the benefit of themselves or others or organizations, or to harm or discredit others.
  4. State any potential conflicts of interest, seek advice from the journal if they are unsure whether something is of relevant interest
  5. Do not allow their review to be influenced by the origin of the text, by nationality, religious or political beliefs, gender or other characteristics of the author.
  6. Be objective and constructive in their reviews, do not be hostile or inflammatory and from making personal comments that are defamatory or derogatory.
  7. Acknowledge that peer reviews are largely a reciprocal effort and endeavor to carry out a fair and timely review
  8. Provide journals with accurate personal and professional information and a true representation of their expertise
  9. Please be aware that impersonating another person during the review process is considered a serious offense

The author must

  1. Responsible for everything published in the journal, and therefore must take all reasonable steps to ensure the quality of material, recognizing the purpose and standards of the journal.
  2. Provide an accurate report of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Information must be presented accurately in the newspaper. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to allow others to copy the work. Statements that are intentionally inaccurate are unethical and unacceptable behavior.
  3. Ensure that they have written completely original work, and if the author has used someone else's work and / or words that this has been appropriately quoted or quoted.
  4. Do not generally publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or major publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time is unethical and unacceptable publishing behavior.
  5. Give proper recognition of other people's work. Authors should cite publications that were influential in determining the nature of the work being reported.
  6. Everyone who has made a significant contribution must be registered as a co-author. If there are other people who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be recognized or registered as contributors. Related authors should ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper, and that all co-authors have viewed and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to submit it for publication.
  7. Notify journal editors or publishers and work with editors to retract or correct papers, when an author finds significant errors or inaccuracies in his published work.
